Asia Research and Engagement (ARE) brings the voice of investors to Asia’s sustainable development challenges. We run collaborative engagement programs across Asia, assembling coalitions of investors to address strategic sustainability issues and using dialogue and shareholder escalation tools to shift the mindsets of senior decision-makers across finance and industry.

ARE has a team of highly motivated professionals with a range of backgrounds and disciplines who help drive change. Our activities include running investor-backed engagement programmes and producing high-grade research on sustainability themes and management by Asian listed companies. We work on financed emissions, energy-related industries, and food and agricultural systems. ARE’s head office is in Singapore, with a total of 27 employees and consultants in locations across Asia.

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Fundraising Manager to lead the development and execution of ARE’s multi-year fundraising strategy, driving growth and impact across Asia. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in fundraising, partnerships, or business development, with a passion for mobilising capital towards climate and sustainability goals.

Reporting to the Director, Global Operations and Partnerships, the Senior Fundraising Manager will work closely with ARE’s senior leadership to cultivate and manage funding relationships, secure multi-year resources, and help scale the organisation’s influence across the region. This newly established role will play a pivotal part in realising ARE’s fundraising targets, with an expected annual revenue run rate of US$2 million.

What You Will Do:

• Lead Strategy & Delivery: In partnership with Program Directors, design and execute a fundraising strategy to grow revenue from foundations, HNWIs, family offices, and investors.
• Relationship Building: Cultivate meaningful relationships with funders globally, focusing on Asia and aligned sectors.
• Proposal Development: Create compelling pitches, grant applications, and impact reports that tell ARE’s story with clarity and purpose.
• Systems & Pipeline: Build fundraising infrastructure, including CRM systems, and maintain a strong prospect pipeline.
• Collaborate for Impact: Partner with ARE’s leadership and program teams to monitor existing partnerships and plan for future funding which align with strategic priorities.
• Track Progress: Manage the reporting process back to Funders with inputs from program teams. Take ownership of fundraising goals, reporting clearly on progress and achievements.
• Event Planning: Plan and deliver targeted fundraising and engagement events in collaboration with the Communications and Program teams to build relationships with key supporters.

• Fundraising Expertise: Proven success in securing six- and seven-figure contributions.
• Networks: Established connections with philanthropic funders; Asian market knowledge strongly preferred.
• Communication Skills: Excellent writer, presenter, and relationship builder.
• Mission-Driven: Genuine passion for sustainability and climate action.
• Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
• Time Zone: Comfortable working partly in Asian time zones.
