Benjamin is a leading expert in sustainable investment and active ownership. A former fund manager, he had his first role in sustainable investment in 2005. He founded ARE in 2013 to address the gap in dialogue between investors and companies on sustainable development challenges and to provide high quality, independent research. He is also a Lead Representative for GRESB. He studied mathematics and philosophy at Oxford and took professional examinations in investment management and research in the UK.
Kate leads ARE’s Protein Transition work and team across Asia. Kate has extensive expertise in food systems, farm animal health, animal welfare, and alternative proteins. Formerly, she was the Head of Research at a global NGO focused on humane farming and sustainable proteins. She is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors training programme and the Australian School of Applied Management. Kate has contributed to global strategies across sustainable animal husbandry and food systems, and led corporate and policy engagement, including for the One Health initiative.
Kurt leads ARE’s Energy Transition programme. His deep expertise in sustainable energy started in a US financial institution where he managed a portfolio of renewable energy projects involving hydro, RNG, biomass, geothermal and wind technologies. Based in Singapore for the past 27 years, Kurt was the regional senior risk manager for a US financial institution during the first Asian Financial Crisis. In 2005, he founded GEM advisory where his passion for sustainable energy continued, and his projects ranged from guiding a start-up sustainable fuel company for listing on AIM to the restructuring of one of the largest solar panel manufacturers.
Yvonne leads ARE’s Sustainable Real Estate work and team across Asia. A seasoned company director with over 25 years of MNC experience, Yvonne was formerly the Director of CapitaLand’s flagship education real estate project. Her mandate was to unlock value and enhance the project valuation of Rochester Commons, a S$550 million mixed-use real estate project, in Singapore. She is passionate about sustainability and holds a certificate of excellence from the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership. She is also on the Board of Advisors to a zero waste and plastic circularity company which is a partner of Singapore Pavilion in COP27.
Helen leads ARE’s Energy Transition work and team in China. She has extensive knowledge and expertise in GHG emission reduction and climate change matters in China. She brings with her more than 20 years of commercial experience working in the energy, industrial and financial sectors. Helen has successfully implemented key projects for a wide network of corporations and government entities.
Jane is an experienced management and strategy professional with a record of success establishing platforms that connect ecosystem players including start-ups, entrepreneurs, investors, corporates, government, etc. Prior to joining ARE, she worked as Community Chief focusing on business community development with a major real estate player in Singapore.
Jo-anne is an experienced operations management professional with more than 20 years of connecting the dots between various job functions. Prior to joining ARE, she organised and supported regional business start-ups and expansion. She is very passionate about solving daily operational challenges and creating a delightful employee experience.
Mano is an experienced communications and partnerships professional who has successfully worked with a diverse range of stakeholders. She was formerly Senior Development Partner in a Singapore Government economic agency where she helped local enterprises to internationalise in the region. Mano brings experience in interacting with businesses across industries, delivering authentic and impactful communications, as well as managing partnerships, projects, and programmes.
Doris conducts sustainability, finance, and economic research as well as stakeholder engagement for the Energy Transition programme. Doris formerly led a team of research analysts to study Indonesia’s socio-economic development. She had has engaged senior government officials and business leaders from Singapore and Indonesia to execute national and sub-national projects concerning ASEAN regional economy and trade, digital economy, and governance. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Nanyang Technological University.
Joyce provides research and outreach support for Energy Transition and Sustainable Real Estate. She brings with her experience in research and consulting on corporate and sustainability reporting and stakeholder engagement, as well as legal work. Joyce has a Bachelor of Law from the University of Bristol. Joyce joined ARE in 2020.
Dave provides support in research and stakeholder engagement for Sustainable Protein. He graduated from Singapore Management University in 2020 with a Bachelor of Business Management. In his senior and final year, Dave pursued his interest in sustainable finance by working as a research assistant in SMU and later joining ARE as an intern prior to graduation.
Khinwai provides support in research and stakeholder engagement for Energy Transition. Prior to joining ARE, he has had experience in equity research and ESG integration at a major Singapore headquartered asset manager. Khinwai has a Bachelor of Business Administration (Finance) from the National University of Singapore.
Quinnie is an experienced ESG and sustainability leader in the real estate sector. Her former roles include being a partner of a US engineering consulting firm and General Manager of Greater China for a British building research institute. Her expertise ranges from sustainability reporting, Net-zero building, ESG strategy, to stakeholder engagements with government, industry, and academia to facilitate knowledge, collaborations, and partnerships.

eter has considerable experience in the analysis of energy transition issues, with a focus on developments in climate policy and energy market trends. After initially starting his energy-related career in journalism, Peter was Lead Energy Analyst at The Economist Intelligence Unit. Since 2017, he has focused more on energy transition trends and issues in the Asian region, including analysis of national-level climate and energy policies, climate financing to boost the development of cleaner energy systems, and the emergence of low carbon technologies.

Her breadth of communications skills ranges from launching corporate technology companies to managing communications and fundraising for regional and global NGOs to writing for regional and global publications. Paige is responsible for vocalising and amplifying ARE’s Theory of Change.
tella’s diverse professional journey spans critical roles in finance and investment, including ESG research, equity analysis, credit rating, and strategy. Formerly Assistant Vice President of ESG methodology at Moody’s, she adapted global ESG models for the Chinese market. She was also a consultant for the Credit Risk and Ratings Advisory Committee at UNPRI. Stella holds a Bachelor of Economics with first-class honours from the Central University of Finance and Economics and a Master's in Finance & Investment from the University of Exeter. Her expertise reflects a dedication to advancing ESG practices and sustainable finance, grounded in a deep understanding of global financial markets.
iffany facilitates investor engagement at ARE, bringing over 15 years of experience in client relationship management. Her background includes diverse roles in both the public sector (with the UK Department for International Trade and Business Finland) and the private sector (within the financial and professional service industry). With a passion for sustainable finance, Tiffany is dedicated to fostering meaningful connections and driving positive change in the investment landscape.
henguang brings a wealth of experience to the team as a seasoned policy and sustainable finance professional. With a background in banking, financial markets, and stakeholder engagement, he actively collaborated with policy stakeholders, financial institutions, and corporations to advance sustainable development in China while aligning with the SDGs and the Paris Agreement. Chenguang's enthusiasm lies in partnering with investors and companies to drive initiatives toward carbon neutrality, reflecting his commitment to addressing climate change through collaborative efforts.
unjin contributes to ARE's Energy transition work in China by offering research and stakeholder engagement support. He holds a Master of Environmental Engineering from Cranfield University. Before joining ARE, Runjin gained valuable experience in ESG disclosure and rating at China's largest credit rating agency.
mily offers valuable support in research and engagement for Energy Transition initiatives in China. She holds a Master of Finance and Management from The University of Exeter. Prior to joining ARE, Emily served as a senior investment analyst in a private dollar fund, where she honed her skills in primary market investment analysis and communications.
sabelle supports the Energy Transition team at ARE through research and stakeholder engagement. She earned her Bachelor of Business Management from Singapore Management University. Isabelle sharpened her skills in strategy and sustainability working with companies across the region.
